Everything that you need to know about HyperAutomation

Hyperautomation, the most discussed topic at Gartner Symposium events, is the #1 trend on the Gartner Top 10 Strategic Technology Trends for 2020.

‘Automation’ refers to the use of technology that can mimic human tasks that are highly menial, repetitive, and require a significant amount of human effort. These types of tasks are ideal targets as employees can save their valuable time and focus on higher-value work.

Then, what is Hyperautomation?

Hyperautomation is about the expansion of ‘Automation’. It is about moving beyond tactical automation by combining several complementary components.

According to Gartner,

“Hyperautomation deals with the application of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), to increasingly automate processes and augment humans. Hyperautomation extends across a range of tools that can be automated, but also refers to the sophistication of the automation (i.e., discover, analyze, design, automate, measure, monitor, reassess.)”*

Hyperautomation starts with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) at its core and adds artificial intelligence (AI), process mining, analytics, and other advanced tools, including Intelligent Business Process Management (BPM) suites and low-code application platforms. Using advanced technologies together allows for the automation of complicated processes that were previously completely manual. The goal is to improve the productivity and efficiency of business processes across the enterprise.

It is worth noting that Gartner also classifies the Hyperautomation trend as the ‘People-Centric’ trend. People include both customers and employees.

“These trends have a profound impact on the people and the spaces they inhabit,” says David Cearley, Gartner Distinguished VP Analyst. “Rather than building a technology stack and then exploring the potential applications, organizations must consider the business and human context first.”

At Nividous, we are quite excited that Gartner is promoting the importance of considering humans during automation projects.

Hyperautomation as a people-centric technology fits together perfectly with Nividous’ vision of the future of automation, which is ‘Human-Bot Work Orchestration‘. Orchestrating work between humans and Bots allows businesses to get a holistic view of end-to-end business processes. Nividous RPA allows unifying manual, semi-automated, and fully automated tasks across discrete systems.

The platform enables enterprises to effectively combine a set of tools and technologies, including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, to automate as much work as possible, allowing humans to focus on more value-driven work. With the proper orchestration, human workers understand the advantages of their collaborative robotic co-workers, and the business can maximize the benefit from its automation initiatives.

The following demo video showcases how Nividous Bots with Artificial Intelligence capabilities are used to automate the loan origination process.

Here are some of the benefits of Hyperautomation for business users.

  • Employees are empowered to rapidly identify and automate all possible business processes with the help of a growing set of AI technologies.
  • The human workforce is encouraged to collaborate more effectively. Everyone, including subject matter experts, business analysts, and other business users, gets to automate and contribute to the process of transformation to achieve a more significant impact.
  • People can leverage tools that are flexible and easy to integrate. Processes that are smaller in scope or change rapidly and are constrained to a single business function or team require agile working practices and tools.
  • The work is effectively streamlined between humans and robots with the use of Hyperautomation technologies. Both can work together to automate simple to complex, long-running, and end-to-end business processes.
  • Employees are empowered with useful tools and technologies to manage the full cycle of automation, starting from the process discovery to measuring the return on investment on a big scale.

Hyperautomation is about being more strategic for your long-term automation goals, taking full advantage of disruptive technologies to help you perform more, discover more, analyze more, and see the real impact of automation on your digital transformation.
